Get UP

10 So the LORD said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? Joshua 7:10

I don't know about you but Joshua is so rich with depth and insight. I love how the Lord told him to Get Up! It's not like Joshua was being lazy. He was praying and interceding and the Lord told him to knock it off. Humbling thyself in the sight of the Lord, prayer, and worship are all good but there is a time to act on ones faith and that pleases the Lord. Joshua role was to hold Achan and the people accountable for their sin. I am sure we can pray for eachother but at times what the Lord is asking us is to point out the sin in another brothers life. By preventing the sin in Achan's life it also prevented damaged in other peoples lives. Nothing seems to anger me more when others have to pay the consequence of someone else's sin. Lord forgive me for transgressing against others.

Today let's get Up and stand up against sin, Ours and in our brothers life.

Getting Up!
Joe

I'm so challenged by this post... Being is one of the hardest things I've had to do, but I feel like I've never grown more. God works in people that have integrity.

The Lord tells Joshua that he has a job to do. Jesus says he will take care of the battles they are going to fight but they are to do two things.
1. They are to trust and believe God that he will take care of the battle.
2. They are to not touch any of the tings in the city because they beloneg to the Lord.

Well their is sin in the camp and Joshua becomes more concerned with the battle he is going to fight then he is with seeking the will of God and finding out what God wants next. God wants all the sin removed before there is to be any more battles fought.

God says "the battle is mine" but we have a job to and that is to seek out and remove the sin in our life so When God delivers the enemy into our hands we and others will recognize it was God and no one else. God wants us to work on the spiritual issues in our life and he will take care of the fleshly issue. Jesus said "seek first the kingdom of God and then all these other things will be added to you Matt:6

I see achen as a man who saw a tremendous miracle and knew that God was on his side and STILL compromised his testimony by allowing his eyes and heart to be drawn away by material possessions and money. Achen saw the walls of Jericho fall!!!! He took his eyes off of God. He lost his life and everything he had because he decided not to do the right thing. Father help me to keep my eyes focused on you. Help keep my heart pure so that I only desire you.
