Chapter 18-22 Living in the Blessing

It's one thing to experience victory and blessing, but it's another to remain victorious. In these chapters we are discovering daily obedience to, and faith in, Christ allows us to enlarge our capacity to live a life in His Spirit. In Chapter 18 we see the challenge of resisting change.
Joshua 18:3 Then Joshua said to the children of Israel: “How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers has given you? God wants to be our refuge and invites us to live in this land but we choose instead to live outside of his blessing after we have obtained it. We neglect being faithful in the word, Church attendance, accountability. It's exciting to talk about possessing the Land, but it would be a shame to possess to the Land and obtain Victory only to loose it. I believe we are challenged to be obedient in the midst of the daily routine and celebrate the daily disciplines that we have strive to conquer. It's like being a championship team that loses in the first round of the playoffs. I am not going to settle for one ring I want the Dynasty,

Joshua 22:5
5 But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Dwelling with you,

The problem allot of times is we are given areas and concur enemies with the power of Gods Spirit and we forget we are the children of God. We forget we are to be separate of them. We are not to let them have power over us or to influence us. Over and over God tells us to stay away from them, Old and New Testament. But we still let them influence us because we want to believe we can handle it and there is no real spiritual war going on for our belief systems. Well the truth is somebody does not know what he is talking about, it is either God or us who does not understand the truth and I think it is us. Remaining in victory has to do with believing what God says and doing what He tells me to do and believing it is not only needful it is necessary. God had warned them there would still be inhabitants in the land stay away from them.

Ex 23:27-30
27 "I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run. 28 I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way. 29 But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

In the same way God says to us:
Rom 16:17-18
7 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.
